To promote sustainable development of China volleyball, by methods of documentary research, interview, questionnaire etc., a theoretical study on sustainable development of China volleyball was carried out.The results show that: 1, Purpose, limitation and unification of quantity, quality and time reflect the main idea of sustainable development. Using the inspiration from the main idea of sustainable development, methods of systematic analysis and results from the Systematic school of sustainable development theory as a reference is a practical way, to. probe into theory of sustainable development of China volleyball. The framework of theory of sustainable development of China volleyball consists of concept, implications, objective, characteristics, basic principles, systematic structure and essence and mechanism of sustainable development of China volleyball. 2, The main factors that affect sustainable development of competitive volleyball include the team construction of excellent players and coaches, the level of training and management, investment and rear service, the cultivating of reserve force, scientific research, competition system and level of professionalization. The main factors that affect sustainable development of mass volleyball include characteristics of technique and tactics of volleyball, teaching staff at the basic level, courts and apparatuses of volleyball, competition system, propagating by news media, investment and construction of volleyball association and the mass volleyball organization at basic level. The main factors that affect sustainable development of volleyball industry include popularity of volleyball, construction of professional clubs, overall quality of the employed in volleyball industry, level of volleyball competition, propagation of volleyball league, market competition from other sports and cultivating of volleyball stars. In 2010, factors that are closely relating to administrative system will take more important role in sustainable development of China volleyball. 3, Owing to the fact that conditions to build up a complete indicator system of sustainable development of China volleyball are not ripe, the key work is building up the framework of indicator system, choosing statistic indicators and detail indicators for the indicator system of sustainable development of China volleyball at present. The framework of indicator system of sustainable development of China volleyball, which was built up on basis of the concept mode of unification of competitive volleyball, mass volleyball and volleyball industry in quantity, quality and time, and the 19 statistic indicators and 45detail indicators, which were chosen by comprehensive analysis, lay a foundation for building up a set of complete indicator system of sustainable development of China volleyball in the future. 4, Deepening the reform of administrative system of volleyball and promoting the transformation of operating mechanism of volleyball by system creation is the overall plan to put forward sustainable development of china volleyball. Promoting the functional changes of administrative center of China volleyball and its transition to associational entity, building and strengthening the local organization of China Volleyball association, keeping the reform of professionalization and strengthening the system construction of club, improving the post training system of coaches', regulating relations among different competitions and improving the competition system of volleyball, promoting educational quality of volleyball players, stressing scientific training to get higher training efficiency, laying emphasis on volleyball activities in colleges and schools and developing mass volleyball, cultivating volleyball market and developing volleyball industry, are the main measures to promote sustainable development of China volleyball.
