Investigate the mechanism treating ischemic apoplexy and paralysis by head acupuncture

Apoplexy is a conmon disease which has high incidence, high death rate , high deformity rate. Paralysis is conmon subsequence in ischemic apoplexy. Conmon measures be applied to treat ischemic apoplexy are dissolving thrombus, enlarging vessel, providing the enlargement of infarct area, accelerating resume of damage neuron and reconstruction of never transmit passage.Acupuncture is effective way in treating apoplexy and paralysis caused by apoplexy .which is safe, convenience, high effective ,no side-effect and low expensive compare to west medicine and had been proved by clinic practice for thousand years, and more and more accepted by all around world. Chinese medicine consider that brain is reservoir of marrow, head acupuncture ( can dredge meridian , induce resuscitation ) and had been used to treat apoplexy and paralysis caused by apoplexy. Although a lot of experiment had proved that head acupuncture can improve the flow of blood vessel in brain , up to now, the mechanism molecule biological and cellular biological are still unclear. The ischemic apoplexy was induced by photochemical way in SD rat, and treated these rats by head acupuncture. Ergogram was take to be creative effect index in this experiment. At same time, in order to find out the mechanism of head acupuncture in treating ischemic apoplexy, the number of damaged never cell, never cell apoptosis, P53 expression, bcl-2 expression, nitric oxide synthase (NOS), also be test in half dark band in this treating process. Results: head acupuncture can dredge meridian and induce resuscitation, all of this can approved by following phenomena. 1. the muscle tension of SD rat was prominently improved The more we treat rat early, the more treat effect will be satisfied. 2. Head acupuncture can prominently decrease the number of damaged never cell in half dark band and in hippocampus Cl section, and also can suppress the apoptosis of never cell in acute stage. 3. Head acupuncture can suppresses the abnormal expression of P53 and inhibits the over activation of NOS in acute stage. At same time, head acupuncture can increase the expression of long-lived gene bcl-2. 4. Two weeks later, the damaged and apoptosis never cell of treating group in half dark band and hippocampus Cl section were fewer than control group. But this action was not related to the expression of NOS, P53 or bcl-2.All of this suggest:1. It is related to resist the damage and apoptosis treating ischemic apoplexy and paralysis by head acupuncture. This action is related to suppressing the NOS over activity and2. P53 over expression, and increasing bcl-2 expression especially in acute stage.3. Head acupuncture also resist the damage and apoptosis of never cell in chronic stage . This is not related to suppressing the NOS over activity and P53 over expression, or increasing bcl-2 expression.
