Under the background of the economic globalization and the regional integration process which has accelerated continuously, linkages among the cities within the urban agglomeration, between the urban agglomeration and external region of the urban agglomeration increasingly deepened, person flow, material flow, capital flow, technology flow and information flow kept unceasingly rapid flow and collision, and promoting the socio-economic development of urban agglomeration and the evolution of spatial structure. At present, the research on regional characteristic and difference was dominant in geography while research on regional spatial linkages, especially for the spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration was still insufficiency. Therefore, this paper taking spatial linkage as the breakthrough point, using theories and methods of Regional Economic Geography, Urban Geography, Regional Economics, Urban Planning and other correlative subjects, preliminary constructed theoretical framework of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration and then under the guidance of this framework, thorough analyzing and discussing the process,element and feature, the measurement and model, question and regulation of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province.The paper consists of seven parts including the preface, five chapters and the conclusion.The preface mainly introduces the background and significance of the research, the definition of the study area, research contents and methods, study ideas and framework. Chapter One first defines the concept of urban agglomeration, and then taking spatial linkage as the breakthrough point, combing related research of the urban agglomeration and spatial linkage of the domestic and abroad, and making a brief evaluation.Chapter Two preliminary constructs theoretical framework of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration from eight aspects of element and measurement, the type and model, the process and effect, mechanism and regulation.Chapter Three first devises the history evolution and space growth process of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province from the point of view of time and space, then analyzing the influence on spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province from the natural, cultural, economic, transport infrastructure and ecological environment, and other various elements, finally summarizing main feature of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province.Chapter Four first uses the intensity of economic contacts model, the intensity of urban flow model and spatial transport linkage model to make a quantitative study to the measurement of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province, then summarizing four king of developmental models of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province which will possibly exists in future.Chapter Five first analyzes main question of spatial linkages of the urban agglomeration of middle Liaoning province, and then putting forward specific ideas and suggestions to the regulation.The conclusion part generalizes the main contents of sections, summarizes the conclusions and contributions drawn from the study, points out the shortcomings or needs to be further examination.
