The studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century which was as an important part of the academic-ideology in the 20th century was not enough taken into account by people. Until this day, was there not any academic book published about the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century, and correlative thesis on it could be counted on fingers. In view of this condition, in this article the author first decides to make a systemic study on the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century, then researches the variational process of the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century, finally summarizes correlative characteristics and disciplinarians about it.In this article, the author has some new viewpoints as follows:First, the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century which was closely related to the thought of the times paid close attention to the social function. In the early 20th century the studies of XunZi was received by ethical bourgeoisie because of its view which was similar to the western social science, so the studies of XunZi was renewal. After the move of new culture, the status of Confucianism was shaky radically, the studies of XunZi which was as a retroaction of Confucianism was paid close attention by people again as the western social thoughts entered. When Marxism was recommended, the intellectuals of Marxism found that there were some dialectic ingredients in XunZi's thoughts. And the following research accelerated the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century.Second, a prominent achievements have been acquired about the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century. With regard to settling 'XunZi' have been acquried, Liu ShiPei had published 'XunZi's Supplement and Explanation ', 'the Important Example of XunZi' Word' and 'Rectify Xunzi '. Besides these books, there were Liang QiXiong's 'XunZi's Explanation1 and Zhong Tai's 'XunZi's Patch' and so on. In the aspect of the thoughts of 'XunZV, there were Tao ShiCheng's 'Study on XunZi', Cheng DengYuan's 'XunZi's Philosophy' and Xiong GongZhe's 'XunZi's Academic Case' and so on. These books embodied the traditional and modern amalgamation. In addition some correlative books had special chapters discussing XunZi's thoughts which have a higher academic value , and some famous thinkers had also written some special thess as yet. As for the studying method of the studies of XunZi in early period of the 20th century , especially the studying method of Zhang TaiYan, Hu Shi and Hou WaiLu drived the development of the studies of XunZi and enriched the thesaurus of ideology and academic in 20th century, meanwhile the studying method had different characteristics.Third, Marxism scholar had exploited a new path about the studies of XunZi. Guo MoRuo opened the real gate of ancient history of China through 'Zhou Yi', he thought that Xun Zi was the only intellect who had discussed 'Zhou Yi' before the Qin dynasty. Although Guo MoRuo affirmed the science spirit of XunZi's universe viewpoint, he thought that it was not evolutional. Guo MoRuo thought that XunZi's point of humanism was materialistic, but it contained many conflicts. Hardly did he denied XunZi's political opinion which was for imperial standard when he approved XunZi's standpoint about class and society. Du GuoXiang made astudy of XunZi's thoughtthrough XunZi's 'a Piece of ChengXiang'.He thought that XunZi's univers viewpoint abounded in materialistic ingredient among the intellectuals in the earlier Qin dynasty, so XunZi's epistemology was ont only a little materialistic and alike to natural laws. Du GuoXiang thought that 'a Piece of ChengXiang' was the outline of XunZi's thought. Hou WaiLu analyzed the characteristic of XunZi's thought through researching the social circumstance of the earlier Qin dynasty. He thought that XunZi's thought was a correction on Confucianism. At the same time he thought that XunZi's methodology was materialistic. Hou WaiLu maintained that XunZi should be the man who summarized the academic achievements at
